She started her business from her bedroom, but today, international stars the likes of Gigi Hadid, the Kardashians and Jessica Alba are wearing her designs.

Jenn Low, who was born and raised in Seremban, Negri Sembilan, has certainly made her mark in the jewellery world – and now wants to inspire other women in Malaysia to create their own career paths.

“I hope people realise that I’m just an ordinary woman who dared to dream! With perseverance, grit, focus and direction, we can all design our best lives and achieve our wildest dreams,” says Low.

“I love being a woman, a mother, a wife and an entrepreneur. As busy as it can sometimes be, these experiences have helped me become a more compassionate leader.”

Low, 33, is part of The Star’s “Empowering Women To Power The World” talks, which will be held at the Women’s Fiesta on March 10 at The Starling MBO in Damansara Uptown, Petaling Jaya, Selangor. The talks are in conjunction with Star Media Group’s WOW-Women Do Wonders campaign celebrating International Women’s Day on March 8 and highlighting the difference that women make in society.

“I would like to share my journey so far, which I am sure you can imagine includes many highs, as well as lows,” notes Low, about her story which she will share with audiences.

“I’ll also be speaking about the different tools, decisions and digital marketing strategies that have helped place Wanderlust + Co on the global map, as well as the strengths of having a strong female team.”

Low first founded Wanderlust + Co in 2009 when she was studying in Melbourne, Australia. She is, however, currently running her brand in an office space in Kuala Lumpur with an all-woman team.

Wanderlust + Co jewellery pieces combine classic shapes with modern styles. The brand has a presence in nearly 30 countries and is stocked across 400 retail partners globally.

“The key message that I hope the audience can take home from my talk is to have a ‘growth mindset’. We need to believe in our ability to continue to learn, grow and apply today’s lessons to tomorrow’s adventures.”

Low adds that she is honoured to be part of The Star’s WOW-Women Do Wonders campaign. She is also grateful to be part of an important conversation that celebrates and supports women in today’s society.

She says: “Public campaigns are essential in order to spread awareness and set the tone for important conversations. I hope that this campaign will inspire and spark micro conversations about women’s empowerment.

“A topic close to my heart is to continue to create opportunities for women to fully participate in the economy and stay active in the workplace while raising a family, be it as employee or entrepreneur.”
